Cars in Ukraine: what is the average age of cars, trucks, and motorcycles.

The Ukrainian car market is divided into two categories based on age. Domestic cars are about 16 years old on the road, while imported used ones are nearly half as young - only 9.6 years. This trend is noticeable in the segment of trucks as well: domestic vehicles have an age of 18.5-19 years, while imported ones are only 7.9 years old.
Unfortunately, the average age group of buses operating in Ukraine exceeds 20 years, while imported used ones are only 13-14 years old.
It is also necessary to note that there are age restrictions on the import of buses and trucks, which influence the amount of excise duty and compliance with environmental standards. As for motorcycles, the situation is somewhat different: the age of imported motorcycles is even higher than those sold in Ukraine due to demand characteristics and the choice of new models.
At the same Time, the import of motorcycles predominantly concerns well-known high-value models such as Honda CB, Kawasaki NINJA, Honda CBR, Yamaha YZF, Suzuki GSX, and others, dividing the market into a mass segment for everyday use and an exclusive segment for enthusiasts.
Imported cars and motorcycles in the Ukrainian market
Imported cars play an important role in renewing the Ukrainian vehicle fleet, particularly in the segments of passenger cars, trucks, and buses. In contrast, the motorcycle market is different, where new models occupy a larger share, and used motorcycles abroad are mainly of interest to a specific segment of enthusiasts.
The Ukrainian car market shows differences in the average age of domestic and imported cars, with imported vehicles being younger. This applies to both passenger cars and trucks. As for motorcycles, imported high-value models are more popular, dividing the market into mass and exclusive segments.
