Clear signal: The European Union is preparing new sanctions against Russia by the third anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine.

The European Union is preparing a new package of sanctions against Russia
The European Union is preparing to impose new sanctions against Russia by the third anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine. This is reported by the German newspaper Welt, citing its sources in diplomatic circles.
The sanctions package, in addition to economic restrictions, will include measures against individuals involved in 'hybrid warfare'. EU diplomats noted that this package will be a 'clear signal' to Moscow and will contain measures against specific sectors of the Russian economy that were previously not covered by sanctions or were insufficiently addressed.
The package will also include sanctions against individuals and organizations considered propagandists of the Russian regime and responsible for undermining the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
In addition, the EU Commission and the European External Action Service (EEAS) are considering the possibility of imposing entry bans and freezing the assets of other individuals who collaborated with Russia and participated in disinformation campaigns, including in Germany.
However, Brussels has acknowledged that it will be difficult to establish the involvement of specific individuals in hybrid Russian attacks and prove their participation. Therefore, the issue of imposing sanctions for espionage and disinformation remains open.
It is worth recalling that Russians have once again shot at a group of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
