The EU Council has tightened sanctions against Iran due to its assistance to Russia
The EU Council has decided to expand the scope of sanctions against Iran due to its military support for Russia in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine.
In particular, the export, transfer, supply, and sale of Iranian components related to the development and production of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles are prohibited.
Additionally, a ban is imposed on transactions with ports and gateways that are owned, controlled, or supervised by individuals on the sanctions list. This specifically concerns the ports of Amirabad and Anzali.
Furthermore, the EU Council has added one individual and four legal entities to the sanctions list, including the Iranian shipping company IRISL, its director Mohammad Reza Khiabani, as well as three Russian shipping companies - MG Flot, VTS Broker, and Arapax.
