General Staff: The SBU and ATO struck four Russian Su-34s at the 'Marinivka' airfield.


On the night of June 27, Ukrainian forces successfully conducted an operation against the Russian airfield 'Marinivka' in the Volgograd region. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this strike was aimed at reducing Russia's capabilities to carry out air strikes on the territory of Ukraine.
The operation involved units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine along with other components of the Armed Forces. Preliminary data suggests that the attack resulted in damage to four units of Russian aviation equipment - Su-34 aircraft, as well as the technical and operational part of the airfield where maintenance and repair of combat aircraft is carried out.
The role of Russian Su-34s in the enemy's aviation
Russian Su-34s play a key role in the enemy's tactical aviation, constantly delivering missile and bomb strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements. In the Russian Aerospace Forces, these aircraft are classified as frontline fighter-bombers, actively used for dropping guided bombs, including munitions with gliding and correction modules.
The General Staff notes that the extent of damage to Russian aviation equipment and the results of the strike are being clarified.
