Today, February 12, a wedding ceremony will take place in Israel for the daughter of the Chief Rabbi of Russia, Berl Lazar, Rivka Lazar, and the son of the Rabbi of Odessa and southern Ukraine, Avraham Wolf. This information was reported by representatives of Russian media citing their sources. Last December, the Moscow Jewish Community Center informed about the preparations for the wedding.
The wedding ceremony will take place in one of the best halls in Israel. Currently, there is no information about the list of invited guests. It is expected that the wedding will be held in accordance with all Jewish customs and traditions.
Berl Lazar Expressed Willingness to End the Russian-Ukrainian War
It is worth noting that Berl Lazar has not publicly condemned the Russian invasion but has stated that he is ready to do everything possible to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine. In January 2023, he met with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and said: 'The Talmud says that whoever saves one life saves the whole world. We as a Jewish community - not only in Russia but throughout the world - are ready to do everything to find some peaceful solutions.'
