And this is without children and students: how many Ukrainians are entitled to preferential transport travel.

The number of beneficiaries in Kyiv is impressive
Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Marina Honda calculated the number of capital beneficiaries. According to her, about 800 thousand people of various categories in Kyiv are entitled to preferential transportation. However, this figure does not account for children and students.
'Currently, there are 400 thousand children in Kyiv who are studying in educational institutions. 700 thousand retirees. 126 thousand people with disabilities, of which – 15 thousand are children. 230 thousand internally displaced persons, and more than 100 thousand veterans are expected. When I think about the fact that the needs of all these people should be met by at least two or three people, I am honestly horrified. After all, no institution – neither state nor municipal – will cope with such a task,' she said.
In addition, Honda noted that abroad, some of the burdens are taken on by public and charitable organizations, which, in particular, provide care for people at home. According to her, this really works effectively.
'And here is another figure: in the city, there are currently 230 thousand Kyiv residents living on a minimum pension. The state has granted the right to free travel for retirees, but does not compensate these expenses for the city. Overall, the number of people of various categories who are entitled to preferential transport travel in the capital is almost 800 thousand. This is without children and students,' the official added.
Earlier, it was reported whether transportation in Kyiv would become more expensive and in what Time frame.
