Kyivstar, Vodafone, and Lifecell prepare new rules: what will happen to communication during alarms.


The mobile operator Kyivstar successfully tested the capabilities of Starlink satellite communication. The testing took place in a partner laboratory in the USA, where the Kyivstar SIM card was able to synchronize with the Starlink network and successfully processed signals.

The Direct to Cell technology will enable mobile communication directly from satellites to ordinary smartphones. This will be especially useful in emergency situations or in areas with poor standard coverage.

The committee of the Verkhovna Rada on national security, defense, and intelligence discussed the possible use of Ukrainian operators' SIM cards in Russian 'mines'. Issues of subscriber identification, communication control, and countering Russian drones were considered.
