Better than Americano: The new coffee is becoming a hit in Britain and Europe.

In some coffee shops, long black is offered instead of the usual Americano. This drink, which gained popularity in Australia and New Zealand, is gradually winning the hearts of coffee lovers across Europe, particularly in Britain. This is reported by The Guardian.
Long black (translated from English as 'long black') is a drink made by pouring a double shot of espresso over hot water. This method helps preserve the thick foam (known as crema) and highlights the bright taste of coffee. Unlike Americano, where hot water is added to espresso, which can dilute the flavor and ruin the foam, long black maintains its richness and aroma.
Why is long black gaining popularity?
As The Guardian notes, there has been a rising interest in long black in London recently. Many coffee shops report an increase in demand for this drink. For example, in 2023 it ranked fifth in popularity among coffee orders in the capital, accounting for 9% of total sales.
Differences between long black and Americano:
Preparation method: hot water is added to Americano, while in long black, espresso is poured over hot water.Flavor and aroma: Long black has a more vibrant and rich taste due to the preservation of foam and aroma.Volume: Long black usually has a smaller volume compared to Americano, making its taste more concentrated.
Moreover, a new tea is becoming increasingly popular worldwide. Many people know about the health benefits of olive oil, but most have not heard about the effects of olive leaves, especially when brewed as tea or consumed as an extract.
