Almost 100 kg. In Germany, fishermen caught a gigantic catfish.

In Germany, fishermen caught an impressive catfish measuring 281 cm long and weighing 96 kg. This fish is the largest freshwater fish in the country and one of the largest in the world. Its size makes it very popular among fishermen from all over the world.
Last month, German fishermen broke a record by catching a catfish while fishing for pike in one of the lakes in Bavaria. They fought with this fish for an hour to bring it aboard. The length of the caught fish is 281 cm, and its weight is 96 kg.
This catfish not only sets the length record in Germany but is also one of the largest in Europe. Such massive fish have been caught few times on the European continent, particularly in the Po River in Italy.
Increasingly, studies indicate the threat of depleting fish stocks worldwide due to overfishing. Often, politicians in countries have disregarded scientists' recommendations for catch limits.
