Mass poisoning in Turkey: 53 schoolchildren hospitalized.

A mass poisoning of primary school students occurred in Diyarbakir. On April 30, 2025, after lunch, 53 students began experiencing symptoms of illness, such as fever, vomiting, and nausea, and were taken to hospitals. According to Haber Global television, 47 students have already been discharged, but 6 continue to receive treatment. The causes of this mass poisoning are currently being determined as a result of an investigation by the authorities.
Recently, a similar situation occurred in the city of Sivas. In a dormitory on April 27, 53 students who were having dinner were hospitalized due to food poisoning. The authorities have launched an investigation and collected food samples for further analysis.
Analysis and context:
These two poisoning cases highlight the issue of food safety in public institutions in Turkey. It is likely that this could be related to improper food preparation or contaminated products. Addressing this problem requires active measures from the authorities to prevent similar situations in the future and ensure the safety and health of citizens.
