Guests are no longer rushing to vacation in Turkey due to rapid price increases. Hotels and restaurants have raised prices by an average of 20%, and some beaches have seen prices rise by as much as 300%. The cost of entry to some of the most popular beaches reaches 700 Turkish lira (about 740 hryvnias).
At the foot of Marmaris, the beaches are almost empty in early June, as tourists have chosen to vacation in Greece due to the high cost of holidays in Turkey. The view that vacations in this country have become significantly more expensive first emerged in 2024 and has noticeably impacted the number of bookings. Recent data shows a steady increase in hotel prices in Turkey.
Tourists have begun to search for alternatives to Turkish beaches due to the high prices in this country. Greece is becoming more attractive for travel as holiday prices approach the budget of many travelers.
