Ukrainian F-16 fighters received from allies are poorly armed, - expert
Aviation expert and senior researcher at the State Aviation Museum, Valeriy Romanenko, emphasized in an interview on Radio NV that it is not the number of fighters received, but the quality of their armament and equipment that is an important factor. The missiles installed on the Ukrainian F-16s are of an old modification and are ineffective for air combat.
Romanenko also noted that although the fighters are equipped with the latest defense system, their offensive weapons are insufficient. Missiles with old modifications, which have a limited range of engagement, cannot engage in air combat with Russian MiG-29s.
According to Romanenko, Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense, especially in the autumn-winter period.
