IAEA Representatives Continue Inspections of Critical Substations for NPP Operations.

IAEA Experts Begin Monitoring Electric Substations of Ukrainian NPPs
The mission at Ukrainian electrical substations, which are critically important for NPP operations, has entered a new phase. The decision to extend the mission was made during the IAEA Board of Governors meeting convened at Ukraine's initiative, the Ministry of Energy reported.
The resolution adopted at the meeting condemns Russian attacks on strategic infrastructure necessary for the safe operation of nuclear power plants.
'Just last week, at an emergency meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors convened at Ukraine's initiative, the Ukrainian resolution on the inadmissibility of Russian attacks on the critical infrastructure for NPP operations was adopted. However, the enemy continues its aggression and relentlessly attacks, including substations that are critically important for nuclear generation,' emphasized Herman Halushchenko, the Minister of Energy.
Herman Halushchenko expressed gratitude to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi and the Agency experts for their effective cooperation and the decision to extend the mission.
'Through joint efforts, we must not allow the realization of the worst scenarios for nuclear and radiation safety, to which Russia exposes us,' Halushchenko stressed.
The schedule for visiting facilities has been agreed upon by both parties. Inspections will be conducted sequentially at designated energy infrastructure facilities.
