The Verkhovna Rada has extended the work of the temporary commission on energy tariffs.

The Verkhovna Rada supported the work of the Temporary Investigative Commission
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution acknowledging the report of the temporary investigative commission (TIC), which investigates possible violations in pricing and tariff policies in the energy and public utility sectors.
The resolution was supported by 272 people's deputies. This document approves the commission's report for the first six months of work and extends its activities until the end of the annual term set by law.
The temporary investigative commission was established by a parliamentary decision on October 30, 2024. According to this decision, the commission must present its final report at a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada by October 30, 2025.
'The draft resolution proposes to acknowledge the report of the TIC regarding the work done in the six months of its activities, to extend its work for the period determined by the Verkhovna Rada (one year from the date of its formation), and to hear its report on the work done at a plenary session by October 30, 2025', - stated in the explanatory note.
The resolution also provides for sending the TIC's report to the relevant state authorities for appropriate response, including the Office of the Prosecutor General, the National Police, the Bureau of Economic Security, the State Bureau of Investigations, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, and the Security Service of Ukraine, in case of identifying legal violations by the commission.
The resolution adopted by the Verkhovna Rada regarding the extension of the Temporary Investigative Commission's activities indicates the serious attitude of the legislative power towards issues of control and investigation of possible violations in the sphere of pricing policy. This decision confirms the importance of identifying and preventing deficiencies in the work of energy and public utility companies, which will ensure a more transparent and effective operation of these sectors.
