Russian troops are trying to approach Sumy within artillery striking distance - ISW.

Reports from Russia indicate the capture of some villages north of Sumy and advances in other directions. Ukrainian forces are actively engaging in battles to defend these territories.
Experts believe that the occupiers plan to increase shelling of the city using drones and artillery, but the likelihood of capturing Sumy in the near future is low. Russian officials are actively spreading propaganda in an attempt to justify their actions in this area.
