Execution of prisoners of war in Donbass: Lubinets turned to the UN and the Red Cross.

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets reported that he turned to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding the possible execution of 16 Ukrainian prisoners of war on the Pokrovsk direction. He published this information on Telegram.
"A video with a possible execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russians on the Pokrovsk direction is being shared again on social networks. These are 16 soldiers who, according to the Geneva Conventions, were supposed to be protected by the party holding them captive. However, the aggressor country once again violated International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Conventions by resorting to the mass execution of prisoners of war," Lubinets stated.
Lubinets also reported that he informed the UN and the ICRC about this new crime.
"Systematic crimes against Ukrainian prisoners of war must be stopped, and those responsible for them must be held accountable!" Dmitry Lubinets said.
It is also worth mentioning that law enforcement agencies have started an investigation into the information circulating on social media about the execution of Ukrainian soldiers who became prisoners of war on the Pokrovsk direction.
The independent international UN commission investigating violations in Ukraine has once again found evidence of torture of Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war by Russia in the occupied territories of Ukraine and in Russia.
Earlier, an investigation was launched into the possible execution of a Ukrainian serviceman by representatives of the Russian army. The Prosecutor's Office noted that investigations and search operations are underway.
