Military Recruitment Centers Tighten Deferral Rules: Who Among Ukrainians Will Be Sent for Medical Examination Again.

Territorial recruitment centers are changing deferral rules for those deemed partially fit for service
According to information from the 'Judicial and Legal Newspaper', citizens who are subject to military service and were previously recognized as partially fit or temporarily unfit must now undergo a medical examination before their deferral requests are considered. This new rule applies to individuals whose military medical commission (MMC) conclusions have expired or who have not undergone such examinations at all. Disabled individuals are exempt from this procedure.
According to the new government decree No. 519 dated May 6, 2025, the rules for referral to the medical commission have been changed. Now, if an individual submits a deferral request after the expiration of their previous medical conclusion, they must undergo a repeated medical examination.
The necessity of medical examination for citizens aged 25 to 60
Particular attention is given to citizens aged 25 to 60 who were previously recognized as partially fit for military service. These individuals must undergo a new medical examination by June 5, 2025, and obtain a referral to the commission through the recruitment centers. All citizens are also subject to repeated medical examinations in cases of the expiration of the previous conclusion or the submission of a deferral request as partially fit for military service.
It is important information from the Ministry of Defense that the MMC conclusion is valid for one year from the date of the examination completion, and conscripts are obliged to undergo medical examinations as directed by the MMC, recruitment centers, or other military organizations.
Let us remind you that starting from June 1, another category of men will be mobilized.
Analysis: The new government order sets stricter conditions for citizens deemed partially fit for military service. The changes involve the necessity to undergo repeated medical examinations and the absence of exemptions for previously recognized disabled individuals. These measures are aimed at ensuring national security and improving the accounting system for citizens subject to military duty.Read also
