Poland to launch new gas power plant
Poland has commissioned the largest gas power plant in the country and one of the most modern in Europe. Its capacity is 1366 MW. According to Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE), this new power plant will be able to meet 5% of the national electricity demand.
According to PGE's CEO, Dariusz Marzec, these new investments will strengthen Poland's energy security and provide stable energy supply for over 3 million households.
The power plant consists of two gas and steam units, each with a capacity of 683 MW. Its nominal efficiency exceeds 63%, which is 70% higher than that of old coal units.
