Mount Etna erupts again in Sicily (video).

On August 4, an eruption of Mount Etna began on the Italian island of Sicily, leading to the cancellation of several flights at Catania Airport. The height of the volcanic ash and smoke plume increased to 10 km, worsening visibility for pilots. Some flights were canceled or redirected to other airports such as Palermo and Comiso. The airport advised passengers to contact their airlines for further information.
Nearby towns were also covered with ash after the eruption of the Voragine crater. On Etna, the most active volcano in Europe, there are over 200 craters. Although the volcano erupts frequently, lava has not reached nearby towns since the 1800s.
