In Turkey, 78 people died in a hotel fire: shocking cause revealed.

Terrible tragedy at the Grand Kartal hotel in Turkey
In January of this year, a terrible fire occurred at the Kartalkaya ski resort in Turkey, resulting in the deaths of 78 people, including 20 children. According to local media reports, the hotel staff are accused of spreading the fire. Another 51 people sustained various injuries.
According to the investigation results, it was established that the fire originated in the hotel's restaurant due to overheating oil on a device. The fire quickly spread through gas. Experts noted that if the valves on the gas lines had been closed, the fire could have been avoided.
According to an expert report, initially 'privileged guests' tried to escape the fire, which caused a stampede as the general alarm system did not activate. Hotel managers and staff favored some individuals during the rescue.
It was also established that the hotel administration received the first information about the fire almost immediately, but instead of organizing an evacuation, the staff tried to save cars in the underground parking lot. This led to the intensification of the fire due to the influx of oxygen and the spread of flames through ventilation shafts.
It was also discovered that the evacuation exits were blocked and the alarm system was turned off. 31 individuals have been detained in connection with these facts, including the hotel owner, the director, and local officials. A total of 22 suspects were arrested, including the hotel owner Halit Ergul. Additionally, 6 more individuals were detained, including the hotel owner's wife and their daughters, following an expert examination.
The tragedy at the Grand Kartal hotel serves as a reminder of the need to adhere to fire safety regulations and protect people's lives. The investigation is examining all the circumstances of this terrible event, and the detained individuals are under investigation.
