Ukrainian private companies provide most of the army's needs in equipment and weapons.

Private business and military equipment production in Ukraine
About 60% of the weapons and military equipment used on the battlefield are produced by private companies in Ukraine. This was reported by the Executive Director of the Ukrainian Arms Exporters Council, Igor Fedirko, during an interview for Ukrinform.
'We calculated that 60% of the production of weapons and military equipment is currently produced by private manufacturers, while 40% is produced by state-owned enterprises...'
In monetary terms, state companies produce the majority of heavy equipment, such as missiles, tanks, armored personnel carriers, etc. However, virtually all unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are manufactured by private enterprises. The private sector is also leading in the production of electronic warfare equipment, optics, electronic intelligence, and other technology.
'Private businesses are gradually starting to enter the field of conventional weapons, such as drone missiles and armored vehicles. Currently, 85% of the production of light armored vehicles is provided by the private sector...'
However, development in this sector is constrained by a high financial entry barrier due to the high costs of equipment and production facilities, emphasized Fedirko.
The information mentioned highlights the influence of the private sector on military equipment production in Ukraine, indicating a gradual increase in its participation in this industry.
